# Sites and Department

Sites and Department is a feature in C3 that allows customers to further split your invoices based on your requirement. You would need to follow a two-step process, starting from creating the Sites to then assigning licenses to those Sites.

* To add Sites OR Departments, kindly follow the below steps:
    * From the left panel, click on **Profile**
    * Select **Organizational Setup** and click on **Sites**
    * Click on **Add Site** and update the Name and Description
    * Once a Site is created you can then use the **Department** option to create a Department under Site
* Once the Sites & Departments are created successfully, you can then follow the below instructions to assign licenses to them.
* Please follow below steps for assigning Licenses to Site OR Department.
    * Access [**Product**](/v1/docs/products-1) section from either side-bar or dashboard portlet.
    * Select any of the existing Licenses you have purchases and click on **Manage Product**
    * Select **Manage Ownership** on the next page
    * You will be able to view all the Sites & Departments created.
    * You just need to assign the respective quantity to those Sites & Departments as per your requirement.
